If you’re heading to Lisbon and you’re looking for some cheap options which are also nice, then have we got news for you!

Lisbon can be an expensive city to visit, but with some careful planning it can be quite affordable.

Here are five hotels that are easy on the budget, yet offer their guests a good, comfortable stay.  We’ve found six, in different parts of Lisbon.

1. Hotel Dom Afonso Henriques

Locally, this hotel is known as the DAH. Situated nearer the airport than downtown, this hotel lets it guests obtain more of a feel for interacting with local citizens. Rooms are comfortable; some guests complained about the small bathrooms. Parking is available in a locked underground garage. The hotel is close to several metro stations and bus lines. Breakfast is provided, and the hotel has a roof lounge that overlooks the whole city.

The hotel is located on the Rua Cristovao Falcao at No. 8.

 2. Holiday Inn Express Lisbon Oeiras

This is a budget hotel with a brand name that most Americans will recognize. This hotel is situated in the business park area of Lisbon and Oeiras. You will need a rental car or taxi to reach the location. Located in the suburban area of Lisbon, there is not much public transportation here. The hotel has WiFi, parking, and is close to a golf course, shopping and restaurants. This is a good choice if you want to stay away from the downtown bustle of Lisbon. The hotel is near the A5, a major highway leading to Lisbon. A free breakfast is included in the room price.

This hotel is located at Estrada Paco d’Arcos.

3. Residencial Roxi

This is a low end budget hotel located near the Metro, Rossio, Restadores and local Tram 28. Located on the 3rd and 4th stores of its building, this 16 room hotel is cheap, clean and friendly. Each room has its own sink and shower, but bathrooms are shared on the same floor. Free WiFi is provided, and the staff is very helpful. Each hotel room has its own balcony. A drawback is that there are not lifts here; the stairs must be used on a regular basis.
This hotel is located at 31-3 Avenida Almirante Reis.

4. Pensao Imperial

 This charming hotel is cheap, cheerful and close to everything in the centre of Lisbon. You will love the atmosphere and price, but you might not like the stairs so much – not advisable for those who have difficulty walking.

Room rates start at (USD) $29 per night for a single and $36 per night for a double.

5. Residencial O Paradouro

This is a budget hotel located on Avenida Almirante Reis is located in central Lisbon and is in easy walking distance of the Rossio, Barrio Alto and Praca do Comercio districts. The hotel is also next to the Metro Station Arroios. The hotel has a bar and a television lounge. Restaurants and shopping is near the hotel. Located on the sixth and seventh floors of their building, there is a lift to reach these floors. Rooms have complete bathrooms in each room. Free WiFi is available in the lobby. The hotel desk is manned 24 hours a day.

6. Botanico Hotel

This is a budget hotel with a little more. Rooms as comfortable with spacious bathrooms. Parking is on the street, but the hotel helps out with parking. The hotel is situated near the Botanical Gardens, the city center, the Castle of Sao Jorge and the Lisbon Cathedral. WiFi is free in the lobby; there is a bar with a television lounge. A free continental breakfast is served every morning. Street areas around the hotel are a bit hilly. The hotel is located near the Metro Avineida Station. Guests are offered port and pastries on arrival. The Botanico is found at 16-20 Rua Mae du Agua.
